Jack and Sadie's New Friend Tatum

We went for walk today with Jack and Sadie's new friend Tatum. Tatum is the daughter of our friends Andrew and Megan. She is a month younger than Jack and Sadie, but twice the size! She could whoop them in a fight. This is a photo of the three as we were leaving the house. Notice how calm Tatum looks compared to our children. Tatum proceeded to sleep through our entire walk while Jack and Sadie screamed. Oh well, at least we never have to wonder if they've stopped breathing.

Fudgey

We have a new addition to our household - Fudgey the Sheep. Fudgey is a "sleep sheep." He makes soothing sounds including whales singing. We'll try anything to sooth Sadie. Despite Sadie's face in the photo, Fudgey is a hit. I was holding Jack while I snapped this shot and didn't quite catch Sadie when she was smiling.

Afternoon at the Park

We had a great afternoon at the park yesterday. Sadly it was our last day with Pud (Grandma Charlene). She will be very missed. We captured the following series of Jack and Sadie together at the park. Sadie kept licking her brother!

New Car

Well, we resisted as much as we could, but it's true that multiple children require a bigger car. When we placed the infants car seats in the back seat of my Corolla J. no longer fit in the front seat. After weeks of looking at used cars (and finding out that infant car seats don't even fit in station wagons any more!), we found a Toyota Sienna minivan we could love. It seats 7! It even has working cup holders and CD player - wow. The color is so nondescript that we call it the "mood van" because depending on the way you look at the van it can appear green, blue, or gray.

June 17th

Everything is going well here in Garvanza. We're getting better at soothing Sadie's colic with our myraid of soothing techniques and tools - swaddling, shhhing, singing, swinging, slinging - and the latest additions: the air chair hold, the elevator drop, dub regage, and the double swing! We've found that Jack and Sadie like to sleep in the swing together (see photos). The double swing seems to work the best when J. plays dub regage for these two as well.

Jack's appetite continues to grow. We had a lactation consultant come out last week. She said that Jack's eating 3 ozs. of milk at every feeding (24 ozs. a day!) and gaining an oz. of weight each day. He eats and grows at twice the rate of Sadie. He must be taking after J. in the size department, while Sadie is more my size.
