Celebration Kids

Jack and Sadie started at their new school yesterday, Celebration Kids. They are formally pre-K students. While it feels like a huge change to us, the kids seem most focused on their lunch boxes and the social dynamics of recess. It is incredible to see them in a sea of 4 year olds. There are two pre-K classes at Celebration Kids, so Jack and Sadie are able to be in separate classrooms. They have three recess periods a day together, but otherwise are separated. We thought that it would be hard for them to be separated, but we have not heard one peep of complaint about it yet. We are excited for the learning ahead of them in this new community!

Maine

We are home from our trip to Maine. September was a beautiful time to be in Maine. We had gorgeous crisp falls days to explore Phippsburg and beyond. Momma Su could not have done more to make us all feel at home. The star of the trip was "uncle" John. John earned the title of "uncle" with multiple adventures from going out on the Hermit Island boat, the Yankee, to nature walks on the island. Farm life also suited Jack and Sadie, who literally counted down the minutes until they could collect the eggs and wanted to pick vegetables in the garden the moment they got up. It has never been so easy to get the kids to eat their carrots! Thankfully Momma Su did not mind our little scavengers picking everything they could find. We also went apple picking in North Yarmouth, my old home town. Sadie collected 10 pounds of apples in under 10 minutes. Another afternoon we visited with cousins in Freeport and ate our full of lobster (or at least I did). It was a lovely trip and a wonderful way to kick off the fall.

Cousins

We spent a day in Brookline with our cousins on our way up to Maine. Sadie and Jack were playing with their cousins from the moment they woke up until the moment we left. They were particularly taken with Fredrickson, the pet guinea pig. There has been many requests to go back to see their cousins since we got home. I guess it is time for a Rysman family vacation.
