The New Rysman Men

My cousin Marc with the next generation of Rysman men, his son Micah and Jack.

Pud and Sadie

Many of us are squeamish about seeing ourselves in photos - this is particularly true of J. and Charlene - but I think this photo of Pud and Sadie is too sweet to keep to ourselves.

Coo away

Mum and Sadie got a lot of time together this trip, as Mum had the best technique of all of us for dealing with Sadie's colic - just ignore it and pretend you're holding a happy baby. Mum would coo away as Sadie fussed. We were able to get a few photos of a happy Sadie in Mum's arms though.

The Great One

When J. asked his grandfather, Pup, what he'd like the great grandchildren to call him, Pup's response was "The Great One." Seeing Sadie and Jack with Pup is pretty awe inspiring. It may be because Jack and Sadie will be Pup's age in 2096, or seeing the babies in the arms of WWII veteran, or simply because the people change so much in such a relatively short period of time. One thing is for sure, and that is that Pup will forever be The Great One to these little ones.

Happy Trails

It was quite an adventure, but we made it to the east coast and back last week. Jack and Sadie traveled surprisingly well. Check out Jack on the plane and outside the car rental company. We had all that stuff for a 5-day trip! There aren't any photos of Sadie traveling because she was in my sling 99% of the time we were traveling.

Stanley

Sadie cuddled up the other morning with Stanely, the stripped bunny, a recent present from Momma Suzy.

J., Jack and Sadie

Jack's chair

We introduced Jack to this little chair this week. He's still not too sure about it. Getting him in and out of it is a bit tricky, but he'll humor us for a brief time and chill in his chair before letting us know that he wants out.

Sadie's happy place

The changing table is one of Sadie's happy places. It doesn't always work, but sometimes when she is fussy hanging out on the changing table calms her. It only lasts for a few minutes, but she can be pretty cute for those few minutes.

More weights

We went to the pediatrician yesterday and have the most recent weights: Jack is 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and Sadie is 6 lbs. 12 ozs. It was a good week for the Sadie Monster - she gained a half ounce more than her brother. Here is a photo of Sadie waking up this morning. Sadie had a half hour of good spirits this morning until I started feeding her brother and she started crying like she was being attacked with hot pokers.
