Tomorrow (the 21st) is Sadie and Jack's first birthday. We had a party for them on Saturday in Griffith Park. It was a beautiful afternoon and wonderful to celebrate their birthday with our honored guests, Pud (J.'s mom, Charlene) and Papa (my dad, Peter). Jeff and Emily catered the party with the Kwong Dynasty Noodle Fantasy and I made carrot cupcakes for the kids and gingerbread cake for the adults. It was so nice to spend an afternoon with so many of our wonderful friends.
It's kind of amazing to have made it to this point. Jack and Sadie's first year was so intimidating when I was pregnant. It was hard to imagine how we were going to survive it. But we are more than just surviving; our family is doing great. Jack continues to get endless joy out of simply living and Sadie is ready to take on the world. J. and I have a great time with them, and if we could just find an answer to the never ending to-do list it would be Shangri-La.
Our cuties are one, and there is whole new set of adventures ahead!

OMGDie, your cake is adorable! Kwong Dynasty Noodle Fantasy catered thier b-day party! Those kids have it so good :)
Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your little ones. I do hope that someday in the not so distant future I have the opportunity to meet your family. It is wonderful to see the incredible family you have nurtured, Molly. Yeah for you!!
