Dining Out

l
Meal times with the kids have become a bit tough. In general the kids are good eaters, but as they approach two years old they're becoming more picky about food. The hardest part is you never know what they'll like from one day to the next. One day they love chicken - the next day they'll have nothing to do with it. Without much language to express these feelings they express them by spitting food out, throwing food on the floor, rubbing food in their hair, etc. As a result we've starting dining out more. The kids are more likely to eat when they are distracted by a new environment and we're more likely to enjoy ourselves if we know that someone else has to deal with cleanup. I always have a little bit of guilt about the carnage left behind on restaurant floors after we're done, but I try to make up for it by being a big tipper.

The photos above are from a few weeks ago at Twoeey's. Twoeey's is the kind of restaurant we would have avoided before having kids - the food is mediocre and the decor leaves a lot to be desired, BUT, man, are they family-friendly. They were so nice about our two wild children climbing all over the booth, eating their crayons, and starting a small trash dump on the floor below their highchairs. As a result we'll definitely be visiting Twoeey's again soon!
